About Us

Like many small businesses, Point Cove Marine Services has grown over the years from a vision to a reality by filling a growing need in a very specialized niche market.

PCMS was originally founded in 2004 as Point Cove Marina Inc. by Terry Grantz and Peter Brown with the plan of renewing a rundown marina site on the shores of the Ohio River. Due to site issues that were insurmountable, the marina never came to fruition, but during that process another opportunity arose. Mr. Brown and Mr. Grantz pursued a management contract for the brand new Lock Wall One Marina located on the Allegheny River. In 2008 Point Cove Marina Inc. won the contract and helped launch the new facility. In the first full season they were one slip short of filling the marina to capacity and since then the marina has been 100% occupied with an extensive waiting list.

Point Cove Marina Inc. continued to successfully manage Lock Wall One Marina until 2013 when Mr. Brown stepped down as part owner. At that time, Mr. Grantz reorganized the company and became sole owner of Point Cove Marine Services Inc. and continued management of Lock Wall One Marina.

By early spring of 2014, PCMS was already expanding.   They proposed and secured a second contract, this time with Forest City Bessemer Court Associates, to take over management of The Landing and Marina at Station Square located on the Monongahela River. While the marina had already been established, PCMS immediately recommended operational changes that resulted in increased revenues for the marina ownership.

Following the 2020 boating season, PCMS did not renew its agreement with Forrest City, but the following year they entered into a new agreement with Mosites Real Estate to reopen Six Mile Landing formerly known as Silky’s Crows Nest.  PCMS was tasked with rebuilding the marina and re-establishing the business in less than six weeks.  PCMS delivered by opening on May 15, 2022 and ended the season just shy of 75% occupancy.

At PCMS, we credit our recent growth to our ability to provide unsurpassed customer service. We welcome new marina management and consulting opportunities and look forward to discussing your marina related needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at 412-965-2226 or [email protected].
